Can customers find your business online?
One free test, three views: can Google find you (SEO), can answer boxes and voice assistants quote you (AEO), and can AI assistants like ChatGPT name you (GEO).
Free visibility test
Enter your website. We read it once, the way a search engine and an AI tool do, and give you a score.
SEO: is your site easy to find on Google?
SEO (search engine optimization) is making your website easy for Google to read, understand and list.
How it works
Google sends a robot to read your page. It looks for a clear title, a short description, headings in order, words it can read and a sitemap. A page it can read clearly is easier to list and to show for the right searches. Our test reads your page the same way and scores those basics.
What it cannot tell you
It does not know where you rank, how many sites compete with you, or who links to you. Those need Google's own tools. It checks the page basics that every ranking starts from.
AEO: can answer boxes and voice assistants quote you?
AEO (answer engine optimization) is writing your page so a short, correct answer can be lifted straight from it: when you open, what it costs, where you are.
How it works
Answer boxes and voice assistants look for a short, direct answer: an opening sentence that says what you are, customer questions with their answers, and hours and prices written as plain text. The clearer your page answers, the easier it is to quote. Our test checks that your page gives them clean answers to take.
What it cannot tell you
It cannot tell you whether Google or a voice assistant actually shows your answer. No tool can promise that. It checks that your page gives them clean answers to take.
GEO: will ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity name you?
GEO (generative engine optimization) is making sure AI assistants can read your hours, prices and address, and get them right.
How it works
AI assistants read your page and the hidden labels in it (called structured data) to learn what you are, where you are, when you open and what you charge. They also need to be allowed in. Clear facts that match everywhere are easier for them to repeat correctly. Our test checks that those facts are there and readable.
What it cannot tell you
It does not ask ChatGPT about your business. It checks the things those tools rely on. To see what the assistants actually say about you, use the five-question test in our GEO guides.
What we do about it
- Every website we build at Sites is made with these in mind, written from the same details as the page.
- Already have a site? Run the test, then write to us and we will set up what is missing.
- Want the long version on AI answers? Read the GEO guides.
Questions
What is the visibility test?
A free check of your website from three angles: SEO (can Google find and list you), AEO (can answer boxes and voice assistants quote you) and GEO (can AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity name you). Enter your address and it gives you a score for each.
How is the score worked out?
Each view (SEO, AEO, GEO) gets a score from 0 to 100, and your visibility score is the average of the three. 100 means everything we check is in place. It is not a promise about rankings or answers, and it only covers the page basics we can read.
Is it free?
Yes. It reads your website once, the way a search engine and an AI tool do. We do not store the address or the page.
How are SEO, AEO and GEO different?
SEO gets your page listed in search results. AEO gets short answers from your page quoted in answer boxes and by voice assistants. GEO gets your business named in the longer answers AI assistants write. They share the same foundations: real text on the page, and the same facts everywhere.
Can you guarantee Google or ChatGPT will show me?
No one can. What we can do is write your hours, prices and answers clearly, in a form these tools can read, and keep them correct.
Does a Sites website pass these checks?
We build every site with them in mind, and check the basics before a site goes out. Details we do not have, like your opening hours or your customers' questions, we ask you for instead of making them up.
How long until a change shows up?
Search engines and AI tools notice a change the next time they visit your site, which can take days or weeks. No one can promise when.
Can you set these up on my existing website?
Yes. Write to us with your address and we will read it and reply with the price in writing.
